About Kahlil CarteR
Kahlil Rafiq Carter is a seasoned football coach and a former professional athlete who has made waves both on and off the field. Known for his strategic brilliance and leadership, Coach Carter has served as the Defensive Coordinator for the Montreal Alouettes and the Secondary Coach for the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League (CFL). His coaching résumé also includes impactful stints in the Arena Football League with Iowa and Arkansas, as well as at the collegiate and high school levels with Drake University and Valley High School. Notably, he led teams to back-to-back championships in 2011 and 2012 and appeared in three more championship games, including CFL Finals with Calgary in 2016 and 2017, and a high school state championship game in 2019. His leadership has driven his teams to multiple conference finals, earning him a reputation as a results-driven and motivational coach. Over his 12-year coaching career, Coach Carter has mentored 21 All-League players, a testament to his ability to bring out the best in his athletes.
Affectionately known as The People’s Champ, Carter also enjoyed a stellar playing career across the NFL, NFL Europe, Arena Football League (AFL), and CFL. His professional journey included stops with the Buffalo Bills (NFL), Scotland Claymores (NFL Europe), Orlando Predators (AFL), and Toronto Argonauts (CFL). As a player, Carter earned All-League honors four times and was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2003. He broke barriers by becoming one of the first AF2 players to sign with an NFL team, joining the Buffalo Bills in 2003. His impact was further recognized when he was named to the Arena Football League’s All-Anniversary Team in 2007.
